On Wednesday April 1, 2020 Governor Ron DeSantis issued a state-wide stay at home order. The order states that we are prohibited from providing any
medically unnecessary, non-urgent or non-emergency procedures. This will include routine neuters and spays unless the pet’s health is at risk such as a pyometra. Routine dentals are also included in this order unless the patient’s health is at risk such as an abscess or inability to eat.
In short all of the elective surgeries and vaccines (with the exception of puppies who would be at risk of parvo) will be rescheduled after June 1st or this stay at home order has been lifted.
We at the Animal Clinic of Leesburg will be here for you and your fur babies if an injury, or illness should occur. The order allows our Doctors to use their best professional judgment as to if the patient is in need of immediate medical care. This is for the purpose of reducing human-to-human contact and conserving our personal protective equipment that we have. If you feel your pet needs medical attention please call or text first at 352-326-8940 so we can determine if it meets the criteria set forth. Once you arrive at the clinic stay in your car and text us to let us know you have arrived and a confirmation reply will be sent. Once we have your information in order we will come out to the car and get your pet.
If you need lifesaving medication or prescription food for your pet, please call or text us this request and we will bring it out to your car. All other medication such as flea and heartworm medication or any refills can be ordered through our website acleesburg.com and delivered to your home. We will not refill any non-essential medications if you come to the clinic.
We hope everyone will be safe and abide by the law for the sake of our families and the pets who own us. Our hearts and prayers are with you during this time of crisis.
